wapaknaz: our story
Fall 1925: once a week every week two families gathered to pray
Spring 1926: our birth with 6 members
1927 & 1928: planted on purchased property on the corner of court & benton street
1943: our church dug, poured & built the 1st sanctuary
1955: our church generously provided & milled the wood as they built the 2nd sanctuary
1980's: we planted Jackson Center CON & assisted in the Cridersville church plant & completed our 3rd sanctuary
1970's: we launched missionaries to Swaziland (now Eswatini)
1990's: our bus ministry continued to impact the community
2000's: resilient & faithful people praying seeking God's grander vision through the ups & downs of the decade
2010's: resilient & faithful people took big risks & God’s grander vision continually unfolded impacting our community & gaining momentum
Now: momentum & the story continues to be written . . .
Since our church planting pioneers and even to this day, our story reveals the people of wapaknaz have been a praying people with future-forward thinking, courageous risk-taking, and unbelievable generosity through their resources and sweat equity. A people always committed to their God-given mission, creating momentum into the future. A loved people loving people to Jesus Christ.
